Setting Up MYIO

  1. 1 After your intake is processed, you'll receive an email invitation from MYIO/Valant.
  2. 2 Click the link and set up your username and password. Check your spam folder if it doesn't arrive.
  3. 3 Complete any pending intake forms, consent documents, and questionnaires.
  4. 4 Finish all paperwork before your first appointment so your visit stays focused on your care.

Answers to the questions we hear most from patients navigating both platforms.

Which platform do I use to message my provider?

Use Spruce for all day-to-day communication — refill requests, appointment questions, and clinical messages. MYIO is primarily for completing questionnaires, reviewing records, and managing billing.

I didn't receive my MYIO invitation. What do I do?

Check your spam or junk folder first. If it's not there, call us at (781) 803-7757 or message us on Spruce and our team will resend the invitation.

I forgot my password. How do I reset it?

For MYIO, click "Forgot Password" on the login page. For Spruce, use the password reset option in the app. If you need additional help with either platform, contact our office and we'll sort it out.

Can I request a refill through MYIO?

Refill requests go through Spruce, not MYIO. Send a secure message to your provider and allow 48 to 72 business hours for processing. Plan ahead so you don't run out of medication.

What if my telehealth appointment has technical issues?

This is exactly why we maintain Spruce as a backup. If Valant's telehealth has an outage or you're having connection problems, message your provider on Spruce and they can switch you to a Spruce video call so your appointment continues without rescheduling.

Can I use either platform for emergencies?

Neither Spruce nor MYIO is monitored in real time for emergencies. If you are experiencing a psychiatric emergency, call 911, contact the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988, or go to your nearest emergency room. For urgent but non-emergency clinical questions during business hours, Spruce is the fastest way to reach us.

Is Spruce really HIPAA-compliant?

Yes. Spruce Health is a HIPAA-compliant communication platform built specifically for healthcare. All messages, phone calls, and video sessions are encrypted. It is used by thousands of medical practices nationwide and carries a BAA (Business Associate Agreement) with our practice.
