Duxbury · Boston Back Bay · Telehealth across MA and NH

The diagnostic rigor of academic medicine. The accessibility of private practice.

Modern Mentality is a clinician-owned psychiatric practice built around one idea: diagnose before you treat, measure everything, and treat the person rather than the label.

Prescribers, therapists and NeuroStar TMS under one roof, on commercial insurance.

We diagnose before we treatObjective testing, collateral history and validated measures come before a diagnosis, so the plan rests on evidence rather than a questionnaire.
We measure everythingValidated scores at every visit and cognitive retesting about every twelve weeks. Progress is a trendline, not a guess.
Medication is leverage, not a cureIt raises the floor so a plan can hold. Skills, therapy and structure are what make the change last.
Human first, one teamPrescribers, therapists and TMS under one roof, one plan, and one clinician accountable for the whole picture.
Who we are

Clinician-Owned. Patient-Focused.

Most people arrive here after years of the same pattern: a short appointment, a questionnaire, a prescription, and a follow-up nobody uses to check whether any of it worked. Modern Mentality was built to close that gap between what someone is capable of and what their attention, mood or energy currently lets them deliver.

We are an integrative psychiatric practice in Duxbury and Boston’s Back Bay, with telehealth across Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Our team of psychiatric nurse practitioners, licensed clinical social workers and licensed mental health counselors works from one model: a real evaluation first, objective data behind every diagnosis, validated outcome measures at every visit, and a plan that changes the week the numbers say it should.

Our clinicians bring training and clinical experience from McLean Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Newton-Wellesley Hospital. We hold specialized ADHD certification (ADHD-CCSP), and we use FDA-cleared TOVA attention testing, Creyos neurocognitive assessment, GeneSight pharmacogenetic testing to inform prescribing, and NeuroStar TMS to move past trial-and-error psychiatry.

Modern Mentality is an official clinical training site for Boston College’s Doctor of Nursing Practice program, and the practice is partnering with Boston College on an active three-semester DNP research project to validate our ADHD assessment protocol. Teaching keeps us honest: every diagnostic call and prescribing decision has to be defensible out loud.

And premium care here does not require a concierge price tag. We are in network with the major commercial plans, verify your benefits before the first visit, and openings are often available within two weeks.

What sets us apart

Not Every Practice Is Built the Same

vs. Telehealth startups

Real Evaluations, Real Answers

Where app-based services offer a fifteen-minute video check-in, we start with a structured evaluation, objective testing and FDA-cleared assessment, in person or by telehealth, so the diagnosis is right before anything is prescribed.

vs. Local group practices

Diagnostics Others Do Not Offer

Most practices rely on questionnaires alone. We bring Creyos cognitive testing, TOVA, GeneSight pharmacogenetic testing and NeuroStar TMS into one practice, and use them to build the complete clinical picture.

vs. Hospital systems

Access Without the Wait

Clinicians with McLean and Mass General experience, without the months-long waitlists, the bureaucracy or the fragmented care. Openings are often available within two weeks.

vs. Standalone TMS centers

TMS Inside a Full Plan

TMS centers treat one symptom in isolation. We integrate NeuroStar TMS with medication management, therapy and measurement before, during and after the course.

How we hold ourselves accountable

Outcomes Follow Process

None of this is complicated. It is simply done every time, by every clinician here, and that discipline is the whole difference.

How it works

From First Contact to a Plan

2

We verify your benefits

Our team reaches out within two business days and checks your insurance before your first visit, so there are no surprises.

3

A real evaluation

A structured assessment, not a quick prescription visit. Objective testing is scheduled when it is indicated.

4

A plan, measured

You leave with a plan and the measures we will track. Every follow-up starts with the score and with what happened in your week.
